I think you should bring back the bus before the 4:40 am 400 that runs from stone quarry to Gatwick South Gatwick Airport is one of the biggest employers in West Sussex and if you don’t drive or you want to encourage people not to drive we need that earlier bus because people cannot get to work for the shifts they are advertising. It would really make sense. I know so many people who cannot get there. I am myself with cabin crew with British Airways and I have had to give up my job because too many of my shifts start. Before I can get there on the bus Also the 400 finishes too early. I’ve seen Southdown send Bus out after that from East Grinstead and we don’t have anything that goes further than Manor Royal although if you can get to Manor Royal you can get a bus from Crawley, but what if you finish at a later time of night you cannot get back from the airport?

Very happy with the 51 Selsey to Chichester service.
Extra buses and £2 a trip, what’s not to like.
Every bus has a decent loading, so people voting with their feet.

We have to entice people away from cars and into busses. Creating a fabulous Chichester Bus Station as a people friendly, informative place to meet and start a journey is a must. Pease don’t lose sight of how important this is for the future of sustainable travel.

I am a single parent and I don't drive so I rely on the busses. I think the £2 single fares are fantastic and has made bus travel more affordable for fun trips out not just essentials.
The only negative I have is the attitude of some of the drivers. I am sure most are great but I have had two recently who swore and were very rude, one of which gave an uncomfortable journey and kept punching the break hard.

One thing I think would be good is, if drivers remained stationary until passengers are sat. So many times I have seen people nearly fall.

Chichester District Council has plans to close the public toilets on Tower Street.
https://chichester.moderngov.co.uk/documents/g1696/Public%20reports%20pack%20Tuesday%2011-Jul-2023%2009.30%20Cabinet.pdf?T=10
These toilets are close to many bus stops on West Street near the Cathedral and I imagine will be sorely missed by bus passengers.
If you want to have your say please email your District Councillor: https://chichester.moderngov.co.uk/mgMemberIndex.aspx?bcr=1
This will also be discussed at Full Council on Tuesday 18th July.

I’m thrilled with the new 500 bus service through Barnham but please can we have a stop at Sainsburys at Portfield as the 85 did. The stop beyond Lidl is too far to carry heavy shopping. I’m sure this stop would be well used.

The new 500 service is a real boon to anyone in the new housing developments around Shopwyke Lakes - first real bus service since the houses were started 5 years ago. However it has launched with missing bus stops - they were erected then removed and nothing since. Surely it can't be difficult to put some temporary stops on while we wait for a decision and the work on hard standing to be done? Nobody seems sure about how we catch a bus into town!

Living in Aldwick and going by bus to Bognor Regis is fine, however coming home after 9pm there are NO buses. Can we have later buses from Bognor Regis.

North Lancing is very poorly served with bus services
The ONLY daily service No 7 is too devious and infrequent at 90 min intervals (none on Sundays)

A service is needed on the A27 corridor
eg Salvington- Lyons Farm- Sompting Village- North Lancing (Manor Road) then A27 to Shoreham

Dial Post has no busses. This restricts access to the rewinding project at the Knepp estate to only those privileged to own cars. It also makes it difficult to attend sixth form college in Horsham as there is no sage option to return, restricting social mobility opportunities.

Before Covid we used the bus to get to either Horsham or Cranleigh (sometimes on to Guildford) from Rudgwick all the time. We don't bother anymore due to buses not turning up, even though they show up online as "due". We have stood at the bus stop for ages. eventually give up and end up walking back to our house to get the car and take all the (usually) ladies who were stranded and dropping them off in Cranleigh or Horsham. When the bus Company stops the service due to lack of numbers I just hope they realise we would use them if they actually ran!!

I would like a late bus out of Arundel to allow an wn evening visit to friends and or a restuarant visit. Even if only 1 at say 8.30?
Thanks

I would love to use the bus service but we have had ours cut in Ardingly for years. There are no sensible connections to other services. It's getting quite sad as we are being cut off and since COVID there are a lot who cannot afford a taxi as their prices have rocketed. We need help!

We really need a better bus service in Angmering village, which No. 9 covers. We only have a bus from Monday to Saturday, so if you don’t have a car you can’t get around, especially for us elderly folk, so you are cut off from family and friends. The only option is taxis and our pension does not run to that. Also one bus an hour is awful, by the time you get to worthing for shopping the turn around just does work. With all the 700 route when sometimes three turn up together is out of our reach. Why can’t one come up to the square and back out, at least it would give you more options. Especially with all the building in Angmering, a better bus service would help cut down the use of so many cars and help the environment.

I have lived in Barnham for 5 years and would like to use the bus service to get to Chichester. however at only 2 buses a day it really impractical. Now with Barnham increase in housing developments surely this should be increased to help with reducing car journeys. I know we have a train service to Chichester but as I am retired I can't use my free bus card on the train.

The local bus service ( 52 &53) is rubbish.
The electronic signs bear absolutely NO resemblance to the actual bus arrival. I have complained about this before.
Who ever thought it was a good idea for WSCC to manage the signs ? Surely this should be the bus company’s responsibility. Just MAD.
Very often, although the bus is supposed to go to & from the Cathedral, it turns round at the bus station. You either have to change at the bus station or wonder if the bus you want at the Cathedral will ever turn up.
We now use our car which is what you are supposed to be helping us avoid.

No 84 service. I live in Sharpthorne & have no car., I cannot get to see my GP in Crawley Down. I can go to Crawley or East Grinstead but cannot get to Haywards Heath. All a bit sparse not to say random?!? There is a proposal to build 125 new dwellings in Sharpthorne and the situation will be dire.. don’t say you had no idea or warnings about the level of complaints riding..,

Why do bus services in Horsham stop so early on a Sunday? Why are they only once an hour during the week evenings? Why are bus services so generally unreliable, especially the busy Southwater route which experiences high demand. At times, it is impossible to get to Southwater from Horsham train station and most of the time there are no taxis either. Basically, it is assumed everyone has access to a car and public transport is an afterthought.
