The Drugs & Alcohol Partnership (DAP) is a mandated setting for understanding and addressing local challenges of alcohol & substance use in West Sussex. From 2025-2028 the Partnership has identified 4 priority domains: children & young people, criminal justice & community safety, treatment & recovery services, wider determinants of health and recovery. Please see the attached 'plan on a page' from more details.

In addition to the people already receiving alcohol treatment or support, an estimated 18%* of West Sussex residents drink above national guidelines. Therefore, in addition to these priorities, the DAP has identified the need for a new ‘Wider Alcohol-Related Harm Reduction & Prevention Group’.

This group will create space to address the societal impact of alcohol, promote responsible drinking, and implement a population-level approach to preventing alcohol harm. The scope of this group includes those who are not currently receiving support for alcohol use, but are drinking above national guidelines and at levels that pose a risk to their health.

This short survey aims to gather a wide range of partner views on the priorities for this area ahead of a meeting on 6th May 2025. During this meeting we will share the findings & agree the priorities of this subgroup, which will contribute to the local drug & alcohol strategy for 2025-2028.
