September Update
We have now completed 14 signalised crossings, with a further three sites scheduled for construction in September.
From Monday 22 September 2025, West Sussex County Council will be refurbishing the existing traffic signals junction of Stockbridge Road, Southgate & Basin Road, Chichester.
The A286 Stockbridge Road will be fully closed in both directions at the level crossing for approximately 8 weeks. A vehicle diversion route will be clearly signposted throughout this period.
Pedestrian access at level crossings and access to local businesses and train station carpark will be maintained at all times.
Meanwhile you can find FAQs and diversion route map for this project on left side of this webpage under the Documents section . Apologies for any inconvenience.
