Consultation has concluded

Free Zoom workshop for SLS-subscribing schools: Tuesday 21st February 3.45 p.m. - 4.45 p.m.

Pupil Librarians play a valuable role in primary school libraries by providing day-to-day support to their peers and the school librarian. They can also help to promote books and reading for pleasure across the school community and, in turn, allow pupils to feel a greater sense of ownership of the school library. Being a Pupil Librarian can also provide children with opportunities to build their confidence, develop their speaking and listening skills, and undertake responsibility for tasks and projects.

This free webinar, available to all SLS-subscribing schools, is aimed at school staff with responsibility for the library who may be in the early stages of recruiting Pupil Librarians, or, are looking to develop the roles of their experienced team. The Schools Library Service will take participants through the process of recruitment, training and development of Pupil Librarian roles and provide examples of Pupil Librarian-led projects that can extend the role beyond the day-to-day. There will also be an opportunity for school staff to ask questions and discuss their experiences.

To register for this event, please complete the brief form to book your place. On the week of the webinar we will email you a Zoom link along with additional information.
