Week 9 Update

WSCC appreciate your patience and cooperation as work progresses on the Manor Royal project. The bus lane to the southern side of Manor Royal has been suspended to facilitate construction activities which are currently carried out with traffic management in place to utilise the northern lane as a running lane for the machinery and providing a safety zone.

Week 9 Summary

This week, the contractors have been focused mainly within section 3. Excavations for the bus lane have continued and further accommodating works for utility works have been carried out. The contractors are currently in the process of starting the construction phase. All road markings around the 4 way lights at Thales gate 2 to Crompton way have been removed.

Look Ahead – Week 10 (Section 3)

  • Traffic Management Implementation: A designated running lane will remain in place to allow construction plant and dumpers to operate within the working area, reducing the need for vehicular movements on verges. Bus lane suspension of the bus lane up to Faraday road to simplify traffic flow. Temporary lights will be in place from Monday to allow the decommissioning of the 4 ways and allow the removal of the 2 centre islands.
  • Bus Lane Excavation: Small sections of excavation will continue.
  • Bus lane Construction: Type1 to be installed and setting up for new kerbs.
  • Thales gate 2: 4 way lights decommissioned and removal of traffic islands
  • Pedestrian Access: The pedestrian crossing within Section 3 will remain closed however, alternative crossing points to the East and West will remain fully operational.
