Week 8 Update

WSCC appreciate your patience and cooperation as work progresses on the Manor Royal project. The bus lane to the southern side of Manor Royal has been suspended to facilitate construction activities which are currently carried out with traffic management in place to utilise the northern lane as a running lane for the machinery and providing a safety zone.

Week 8 Summary

This week, Landbuild has been focused mainly within section 3. Excavations for the bus lane have continued and the new drainage gullies are being installed. VM have been on site to lower their asset across the maintenance bay and Enervio have been on site removing lighting columns and starting the installation of new.

Look Ahead – Week 9 (Section 3)

  • Traffic Management Implementation: A designated running lane will remain in place to allow construction plant and dumpers to operate within the working area, reducing the need for vehicular movements on verges. Bus lane suspension of the bus lane up to Faraday road to simplify traffic flow. Adaptions to the 4 way lights at the junction on Crompton way to facilitate the removal of the traffic islands.
  • Bus Lane Excavation: Earthworks and drainage will continue for the new bus lane within Section 3.
  • Bus lane Construction: Type1 to be installed and preparing for the new kerb lines.
  • Pedestrian Access: The pedestrian crossing within Section 3 will remain closed however, alternative crossing points to the East and West will remain fully operational.
