Week 3 Update

WSCC appreciate your patience and cooperation as work progresses on the Manor Royal project. The bus lane to the southern side of Manor Royal has been suspended to facilitate construction activities which are currently carried out with traffic management in place to utilise the northern lane as a running lane for the machinery and providing a safety zone.

Week 3 Summary

The contractors' main focus this week has been within section 3. Reduced level excavation for the new bus lane. Excavating a trench for the gas main diversion route in collaboration with Sothern Gas Network (SGN). Installing Heras fencing around trees within the working area to provide tree protection inline with West Sussex tree arbour culturalist guidelines.

Look Ahead – Week 4 (Section 3)

Traffic Management Implementation: A designated running lane will remain in place to allow construction plant and dumpers to operate within the working area, reducing the need for vehicular movements on verges.

Gas Main Diversion Works: Trenching activities will continue in collaboration with SGN to facilitate the diversion of existing gas infrastructure.

Bus Lane Excavation: Earthworks will continue for the new bus lane within Section 3.

Pedestrian Access: The pedestrian crossing within Section 3 will remain closed however, alternative crossing points to the East and West will remain fully operational.
