Week 2 Update
Updated 21/02/2025
WSCC appreciate your patience and cooperation as work progresses on the Manor Royal project. Currently, construction activities are being carried out with minimal carriageway incursions, ensuring that traffic flow remains unaffected.
Week 2 Summary
The contractors' main focus this week has been on carrying out trial hole investigations to pinpoint the exact locations of statutory services. These works are necessary to support upcoming service diversions. Excavation works for the new bus lane are now underway in section 3 alongside the excavation for the new proposed line for the gas main diversion works, enabling the construction of the new bus lane.
Look Ahead – Week 3 (Section 3)
- Traffic Management Implementation: A designated running lane will be introduced to allow construction plant and dumpers to operate within the working area, reducing the need for vehicular movements on verges.
- Gas Main Diversion Works: Trenching activities will continue in collaboration with SGN to facilitate the diversion of existing gas infrastructure.
- Bus Lane Excavation: Earthworks will continue for the new bus lane within Section 3.
- Pedestrian Access: The pedestrian crossing within Section 3 will be closed from Monday; however, alternative crossing points to the East and West will remain fully operational.
We remain committed to ensuring minimal disruption and maintaining safety standards throughout the duration of the project. Thank you for your continued support.
