Week 13 Update

This week, the contractors have been focused mainly within section 3 and making a start in section 2. Temporary lights remain with some minor layout changes and more changes being made over the coming days as working areas move. Aiming to keep traffic moving safely with minimum impact. Base and binder tarmac layers have been installed in Section 3 with works behind the kerbs continuing.

Look Ahead – Week 14 (Section 3 and section 2)

  • Traffic Management Implementation: A designated running lane will remain in place to allow construction plant and dumpers to operate within the working area, reducing the need for vehicular movements on verges. Bus lane suspension of the bus lane up to Faraday road to simplify traffic flow. Temporary lights will remain in place.
  • Section 3: Maintenance bay and other works within the verge will continue.
  • Section 3 South: TM will be altered and ducting works will start in the verge for the pedestrian crossing.
  • Section 2: Excavations to formation levels for the bus lane.
  • Section 2 Bus Stop: The bus stop will remain open for as long as possible, working on the east and west sides to reduce the duration of impact to anyone using the service.
  • Pedestrian Access: The pedestrian crossing within Section 3 will remain closed however, alternative crossing points to the East and West will remain fully operational.
