Week 10 Update

Week 10 Summary

This week, the contractors have been focused mainly within section 3 and around the 4 way lights and Thales gate 2. Temporary lights have been put in place and are running well. 2 traffic islands have been removed as part of the permanent works. Excavations to the failed carriageway have been carried out and the placement of subbase has been moving forward. Openreach have been on site to slew, lower and install more infrastructure.

Traffic islands have been removed as part of the permanent works on Manor Royal, Crawley.

Look Ahead – Week 11 (Section 3)

• Traffic Management Implementation: A designated running lane will remain in place to allow construction plant and dumpers to operate within the working area, reducing the need for vehicular movements on verges. Bus lane suspension of the bus lane up to Faraday road to simplify traffic flow. Temporary lights will remain in place.
• Bus lane Construction: Type1 being placed and new kerb installation starts.
• Section 2: Enabling works up to the bus stop will start.
• Pedestrian Access: The pedestrian crossing within Section 3 will remain closed however, alternative crossing points to the East and West will remain fully operational.
