Crawley's Eastern Gateway is a project within the £60 million pound Crawley Growth Programme which aims to:

  • Upgrade the business and living environment in the town centre and Manor Royal
  • Secure £750 million further investment
  • Improve sustainable transport infrastructure in the town centre, Manor Royal and at three railway stations
  • Unlock private funds for new Crawley railway station
  • Unlock over one million square feet of much needed new Grade A commercial space
  • Enable delivery of 1,000+ new town centre homes
  • Deliver 7,000 extra jobs.

The growth programme has been working towards these aims for the previous five years. In the next year, the growth programme will undergo a review to re-evaluate its key priorities ensuring the programme still best serves Crawley.

Eastern Gateway was a £9 million project and one component of the Growth Programme. The scheme was completed in August 2022 and Councillors and partners joined on site to celebrate its completion. The project has improved connectivity between the town and key development sites by supporting the delivery of residential and commercial development and improving the public realm and living environment in Crawley Town Centre.
