Bromcom was procured on behalf of all maintained schools is 2022, and we are currently in the first of our +1 years of the original purchase (2-year contract with a +1 and +1 at the procurement price). The product was bought off the G Cloud, through Crown Commercial Services, ahead of the planned West Sussex County Council (WSCC) integration of a replacement to SAP, as approved by School’s Forum, and after a procurement process and trail of existing products in the market at the time. The current negotiated contract has a 47% discount.

This review is multifaceted to incorporate both the finance and MIS modules. It will include an internal review being conducted by WSCC teams who use the overview of all maintained schools to provide intelligence and conduct statutory duties.

Importantly we want to understand how schools are using the platform, what benefits are being recognised, what concerns remain, and importantly what we seek from a finance and MIS solution moving forward.

In 2024 a recommendations paper will be submitted to School’s Forum, to advise on the options into 2025. The existing contract is due to end on March 31^st, 2026. However, as advised through School’s Forum (SF), the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) and Resources & School Organisation, Capital & Admissions (RSOCA).

It is important that we recognise the significant impact the move to a new cloud-based solution for both MIS and Finance has put on our Business Leaders and school communities. However, it is also important that we consider future options against the existing landscape, and in the best interests of all schools.
