Early Years AIIB Project

Over the academic year 2021-2022, West Sussex are working with early years practitioners to deliver a locality based programme with the aim of improving outcomes for all children and narrowing the attainment gap.

The project, which has been funded by the Area Inclusion and Improvement Boards (AIIB), is aimed at creating closer working relationships between pre-school settings and schools and developing a shared and consistent understanding across West Sussex of high quality inclusive early years provision.

The Programme Aims:

  • to improve working relationships between early years settings and schools
  • to ensure there is a shared understanding of the principles of high quality, inclusive early years provision
  • to identify an address barriers to children’s attainment in the early years

To evaluate the impact of the project, practitioners are required to complete a practitioner audit and a child progress audit in October 21, February 22 and May 22. The practitioners audit tool should be completed all of the early years practitioners working in a setting taking part in the project.
