Introduction

We are undertaking a project focused on drug and alcohol services and accessibility for people who consider themselves to be neurodivergent (aged 18+), to provide up to date insight on the needs of residents and communities in West Sussex to inform and guide future work, as part of the commissioning cycle.

We would like you to share your views and experiences with us of working with clients who consider themselves to be neurodivergent (aged 18+), whether you are a professional who refers people to the local drug and alcohol service (for example, you may work within mental health teams, housing teams, local homelessness charities), or are a member of Change Grow Live (CGL) staff, providing treatment programmes for clients.

With your help and support, we can have a better understanding of the accessibility of local drug and alcohol services for people who consider themselves to be neurodivergent (aged 18+), including what works well, whether there are any challenges that people experience in accessing and/or engaging with services, and if so, how they could be improved.

Each survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete – please complete the one most relevant to your role.

How we will use the information (data) you give us

We will process this data in accordance with the 2018 Data Protection Act, General Data Protection Regulations and any subsequent relevant legislation. West Sussex County Council is registered as a Data Controller (Reg. No. Z6413427). The data you provide will not be used for any purpose other than that stated and will be stored electronically for a period of up to 2 years before being appropriately destroyed.

The data will be collected, processed and analysed by staff within West Sussex County Council Public Health Directorate, and will produce a report containing the results.

Participation is voluntary, and there is no requirement to complete the surveys. The surveys are anonymous, and we will not use your responses to identify you or attempt to contact you in any way.

The surveys contain some open questions (free text answers), and you can tell us as much or as little as you like for each response. If you are giving examples, please avoiding identifying individuals in your responses. Any identifying data will be removed. Data will be analysed to identify themes generated in the research and will be discussed as themes in the report.

By completing the surveys, you agree for your answers to be summarised in the report and for the findings from the surveys, together with a review of the latest evidence, including relevant local research, and best practice guidance, to be synthesised into a report to the West Sussex Drug and Alcohol Grant Commissioning Steering Group, including recommendations. This report will also be shared with the West Sussex Drug and Alcohol Partnership (DAP), and other relevant multi-agency partnership groups, for example, the West Sussex Harm Reduction Network, and a summary of the findings will be presented to the CGL management team.

If you have any questions about your data, please read our West Sussex County Council Data Privacy Policy or email publichealth@westsussex.gov.uk.
