West Sussex County Council is working to build a clear, organisation‑wide understanding of all services and their critical activity. This helps us ensure we can continue meeting our legal duties, maintaining public confidence, and managing financial risks during any disruption.

To make this simple and consistent across all teams, we use the Christmas Day Test:

If an activity failed on Christmas Day, would it be serious enough that you would come in to fix it because the consequences—within 24 to 72 hours—would include legal breaches, major reputational damage, or significant financial loss?

This survey asks you to identify those activities and the key resources they depend on.
Your insight will help West Sussex County Council protect essential services and support effective business continuity planning across the organisation.
