West Sussex School Health Check
West Sussex School Health Check
Please register your interest in taking part in the School Health Check during the second half of the Spring term of 2025.
The purpose of the School Health Check
The purpose of the School Health Check is to better understand the health and wellbeing needs of children and young people living in West Sussex. As well as helping the Public Health team to target services and provision effectively across the county, each participating school and college will receive an individual school level report.
The School Health Check will be completed by years 4,6,8,10 and 12 and will take approximately 45 minutes to complete.
What support will I receive?
To support the planning and development of the School Health Check, we have commissioned The Schools and Students Health Education Unit (SHEU) (opens in new window). SHEU have 40 years’ worth of experience and currently work with 30 local authorities across the UK.
Alongside SHEU, the Public Health team will be on hand to support each participating school and college by providing guidance and information for students, teaching staff and parents and carers. Participating schools and colleges will also have the opportunity to engage with and receive support from the public health team during the summer term.
