Overview

West Sussex County Council are updating their Local Flood Risk Management Strategy (LFRMS). We would like to find out what you think about our draft LFRMS.

The draft LFRMS sets out how West Sussex County Council, in its role as Lead Local Flood Authority, will work with other authorities to manage local flood risk. West Sussex County Council has produced the LFRMS under the requirements set out in the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 and builds on our current understanding of local flood risk across the county. This understanding was assisted by a data collection survey in Autumn 2024.

  • West Sussex County Council are seeking comments on the West Sussex Local Flood Risk Management Strategy 2025-2030. It is recommended that the Strategy is reviewed prior to starting this consultation survey.

West Sussex is the Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA) for West Sussex. As the LLFA we must produce a Local Flood Risk Management Strategy (LFRMS) that sets out how local flood risks will be managed in the county by the authorities involved. Under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010, we have a duty to undertake a consultation with the public and risk management authorities.

Your feedback is important to us and will help us to identify if changes are needed on the draft objectives, measures and action plan.
