Overview

West Sussex County Council’s Public Health team want to understand the experiences of drug and alcohol service use among LGBTQ+ people in West Sussex.

This research aims to understand what is working well and what could be improved.

The findings from this study will help us identify specific support needs and provide recommendations to improve drug and alcohol services to meet the needs of LGBTQ+ individuals.

Participation involves a 45 minute interview or you can take part in a focus group. This can take place face-to-face, over the phone, or online for example Zoom between April and June 2025. Sessions will be scheduled at a time that works best for you. Participants may have a friend, family member, or ally present during the interview as support.

We are looking for participants who:

  • Are 18 years or older
  • Identify as LGBTQ+
  • Live in West Sussex
  • Have experience of accessing or attempting to acess drug or alcohol services

You will receive a £20 voucher as a thank you for your time and participation in the interview or focus group.

Personal data will be kept confidential and processed in line with the West Sussex County Council Data Protection Policy. For more information on how your data will be handled please refer to West Sussex County Council privacy policy (Privacy Policy - West Sussex County Council).
