Shaping West Sussex: The future of local government in West Sussex

Your councils are changing
Major changes are planned to councils across West Sussex as part of the biggest shake-up of local government in more than 50 years. The Government has asked councils to explore how local government reorganisation could work in the area, with the aim of replacing the current county, district and borough councils with a new unitary council or councils responsible for all local services.
Residents, businesses and community groups across the county are invited to share their views about where they live or work, the council services they use, as well as their thoughts about how their council could be structured in the future.
Have you say!
Find out more and have your say by visiting the Shaping West Sussex consultation page (opens in new window) hosted by Horsham District Council.
This consultation will close at 11.59pm on Wednesday 13 August 2025.
