SEND reform in West Sussex

The Government has introduced a programme of SEND reform to improve how children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are supported. The aim is to ensure children and families can access the right support, at the right time, from the right professional.

As part of this work, local authorities have been asked to develop new ways of providing earlier support and greater specialist expertise within mainstream education settings.

Introducing Locality Inclusion Networks (LINs)

West Sussex is developing Locality Inclusion Networks (LINs) to help deliver this vision.

LINs will bring together specialist professionals and existing support services to provide coordinated advice and support for schools, settings and families. There will be eight LIN areas across West Sussex, each led by a dedicated co-ordinator.

Specialist may include:

  • Education psychologists
  • Specialist teachers
  • Occupational therapists
  • Speech and language therapists

Help shape the future of LINs

We want to hear about your experiences as a parent/carer of a child or young person with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Your feedback will help shape the future of SEND support and services.

There are no right or wrong answers. Please answer based on your own experiences.
