Draft West Sussex Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA)
West Sussex Health and Wellbeing Board has now published its draft PNA and is currently seeking feedback from organisations, community groups and residents with an interest in local pharmaceutical services.
The consultation on the draft PNA is open from Monday 20 June until Sunday 28 August 2022 and the documents can be found in the documents section of this page.
What is the PNA?
The PNA assesses current and future pharmaceutical service needs for the local residents. These are services such as prescription services, medical appliances and health advice provided by pharmacies, dispensing doctors and appliance contractors. The PNA is used by NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE&I) when considering applications for new pharmacies, dispensing doctors or appliance contractors and changes to existing services. It is also used to inform commissioning of services from community pharmacies by NHSE&I, and local commissioners such as the NHS and Local Authorities.
