Extra tips
Pay attention to the Participatory Budgeting Tool text:
- Call to action: Edit the button text in the engagement banner on the project page; the default text is Have your say.
- Contribution name: Edit how items are referred to in the tool; the default text is Project.
- Listing header: Edit the heading of your list of budget items in the tool; the default text is Projects.
Once you have published your project page and the Participatory Budgeting Tool, participants can select this tool using the tool tabs on your project page. Although participations can allocate funds, they can't see the "new item" button and can't post new entries. The new item button is only available to Project Admins who are logged into the Your Voice Engagement Hub.
Budget funds will automatically reduce as participants select which items to fund, until all the allocated budget has been used. If they change thier minds about the allocations they have made, participants can choose to Undo them.
Participants can also use the sort, filter, and search options to find specific items, filter by category, or reorder the items. A Project Amin can also filter by category and then "add a new item". This will then be automatically include that category.
Reporting on the Participatory Budgeting Tool
- You will be able to see how many participants have completed a Participatory Budgeting Tool submission next tot he budgeting tool in the ideas tool tab.
- Select Allocation summary from the three dots menu to export a CSV file detailing the number and percentage of allocations for each budget item.
