Pan Sussex Domestic Abuse Safe Accommodation and Support Survey

The Pan-Sussex Strategy for Domestic Abuse Accommodation and Support 2021-2024 set out how we will help, support and protect survivors of domestic abuse (and their children) in safe accommodation, in line with our duties under the national Domestic Abuse Act 2021.

Since the writing of the strategy, West Sussex County Council, East Sussex County Council and Brighton and Hove City Council have worked closely with our diverse range of stakeholders to form the Domestic Abuse Partnership Board and Voices of Lived Experience Board (VOLEB).

The combined boards are the critical drivers for delivering our shared vision, and with our Police and Criminal Justice colleagues on these boards too, it allows us all to prioritise making Sussex a safe place for everyone.

Domestic abuse is everybody’s business and we regularly seek the views and opinions from all of our residents across Sussex to find out how best we can ensure that the issues are understood, and to ensure that we are delivering the right support options, in the best way, at the time they are needed.

In this consultation, which should only take around 5 minutes to complete, we are asking questions about how well domestic abuse is understood, how much you know about the support services on offer and how well they are serving the communities that we support.

We are committed to working with our partners and communities to ensure that victims and survivors are able to access the high quality support they need via safe accommodation and community support and by taking the time to fill out this survey, your answers and comments can provide us vital local insight that will go towards updating the strategy for 2024 - 2027.

Please look after yourself

Thinking, and talking about domestic abuse can be extremely difficult. Please remember, you are not alone. Wherever you are in Sussex, there is help and support available. You can find your nearest specialist service on the Safe:Space Sussex website (opens in new window).
