What do we mean by respite?

1.Respite care provides a much-needed break for carers by providing short term support such as support overnight or during the day

2.Respite can also support the individual – eg by providing opportunity to socialise with other people, learn skills, building social networks and behavioural support

3.When we talk about 'respite' we are referring to services that meet the Council's legal duty to meet eligible needs of carers through support to the carer or by supporting the person they care for.

I don't use respite, can I still participate?

Yes, this survey is to seek your feedback and ideas on respite, regardless of whether you use it now or not.

What will happen following this consultation?

We will use survey results to draw conclusions and develop a plan outlining how we commission respite services in the future.

How do I return a completed PDF survey?

Please return any PDF copies of the surveys either via email to llscommissioning@westsussex.gov.uk or via post to the below address:

FAO: Lifelong Services commissioning team, Bridge House, Barrington Road, Goring-By-Sea, West Sussex, BN12 4FP

What do we mean by an outcome?

An outcome is the result or effect of an action, situation, or event. So in this situation, we want to know what result or effects respite should deliver.
