Wraparound care is before and after school childcare for primary school aged children in England during term time, such as Breakfast Clubs and After School Clubs that run from 8.00am (or earlier) until 6.00pm (or later).

Childcare is the care and education provided at any setting (place) in which your child is looked after without you being present. This may be at a:

• pre-school playgroup
• day nursery
• childminder
• nanny
• breakfast club
• after school club
• holiday play-scheme
• crèche. 

Free Childcare (also known as Free Entitlement) is provided by the Government for children aged from 2 to school-aged. It allows access to free, good quality, flexible early education and childcare through a pre-school, nursery or childminder registered to offer free places, along with some holiday playschemes meeting extra criteria.
