Workforce Skills Audit

As part of the service re-design and our ongoing commitment to support you to undertake your role, the Early Years and Childcare Training Team will be carrying out a survey to help us capture your thoughts and feelings relating to the redesign and your role. This is one of several ways that we would like to engage with you so that you can feed your ideas into the service and we can identify the strengths within the team and also areas where we can focus support to you. We will use information gathered in this survey to help us develop and shape our training offer to you to help support you in your role working with early years and childcare settings in West Sussex.

This survey is important

We recognise that change can evoke a range of emotions and to help us understand what it means for you it is vital that we engage with you to help us understand how things are from your perspective. Your views are important, as they give us an insight into your professional and personal view. The feedback will be used to shape the service going forward and also for your professional development.

This survey is mandatory for all EYCAs to complete.

Completing the Questionnaire:

When completing the questionnaire please be aware that we appreciate:

  • Everyone is different.

  • Knowledge and skills can be gained through training, experience, or a combination of both.

  • Some skills are useful for several people to have, whereas other skills are only required by a few.

  • Your perception of your competence may change over time.

It is vital that you answer the questions within the survey as honestly as possible. There is no right or wrong as many of the questions relate to how you feel about your own confidence or level of knowledge or skill competence. Results from the survey will be anonymised into an overall report that will be provided to senior managers and HR to provide an overview of EYCAs as a staff group. There will be no names or identifiable information in any reports that are written. Feedback will be shared within the service so that we can use it to inform future planning and service delivery. Results may be shared with your line manager to support ongoing development.
