If the proposals went ahead, what age range of children and young people would be be accessing the expanded St Anthony's site and what would their needs be?
If the proposals were implemented then St Anthony's would continue to offer specialist support for pupils aged 5 to 16 with moderate learning difficulties and additional learning barriers, such as autism spectrum disorder, social, emotional and mental health and speech, language and communication needs.
Should the proposals be implemented, would there be additional spaces for therapy provision to take place and additonal outdoor space?
St Anthony's would expand onto the whole of the vacant Jessie Younghusband site, this will give them additional outdoor space and additional space to accommodate therapy provision for additional pupils, on top of additional classroom space.
How would places at St Anthony's be allocated, should the proposals go ahead?
Should the proposals go ahead, the consultation process for a place at St Anthony's will remain the same. Applications would continue to go through the West Sussex admissions process. Staff at the school would decide if a placement was to be offered based on the needs of the pupil.
Should the proposals go ahead, what changes will there be to travel and parking arrangements at St Anthony's School
There is already an established car park that previously accommodated both St Anthony's School and Jessie Younghusband Primary School. This will remain for St Anthony's to expand into with the addition of new specialist placements.
St Anthony's already have a process in place for school drop offs and pick ups. they will make appropriate adaptations to accommodate more pupils requiring drop offs and pick ups.
Should the proposals go ahead, would there be an increase in traffic at St Anthony's School during school drop off and pick up times?
It is not expected that there will be an overall increase in traffic at school drop off and pick up times, due to Jessie Younghusband Primary School no longer occupying the site.
