Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) - Parent and carers questionnaire
This survey is for parents and carers whose children have experienced or are experiencing worries about and difficulties going to school (this is sometimes called Emotionally Based School Avoidance or EBSA).
Many children and young people worry about school. This is normal. Anxieties are part of life and learning to deal with them is part of growing up. However sometimes a child’s worries may lead to difficulties attending school. If your child has high levels of anxiety and does not want to attend school they may be experiencing Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA).
We want to find out more about your experience, what helps/helped and what doesn’t or didn’t and what you think might make or have made a positive difference.
We are asking these questions so that we can make changes in the future and hopefully make sure that children and young people who display EBSA behaviours are really well supported.
Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey.
