2026/28 Youth Cabinet Elections - Candidate sign up form

Applications to run for a West Sussex Youth Cabinet and UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) member for 2026-28 are open from 20 November to the 19 January 2026.

Elections voting will then take place from 29 January 2026 until 1 March 2026 and the new members will begin their role from 1 April 2026. The data relating to those who are not elected will be destroyed in April 2026.

You are allowed to apply for the Youth Cabinet and for UKYP but your manifestos should be different as they are different roles, so think carefully about your information. Manifestos need to be no more than 250 words.

The Voice and Participation Team who work with the West Sussex Youth Cabinet and UK Youth Parliament Team will use this survey to collect personal data in order to performance a task carried out in the public interest and in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller. The data will be processed in accordance with the 2018 Data Protection Act and any subsequent legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulations.

The personal data we collect will not be shared with anyone outside West Sussex County Council Office and will only be used for the purpose stated. The data we collect will be held securely on computer for a period of up to two years before being appropriately destroyed.
