Overview

The Early Help team works alongside our West Sussex partners, including district and borough councils. We also call on the skills and knowledge of services who work closely with families and children, such as:

  • heads and governors of schools
  • Sussex Police
  • the Probation Service
  • health and maternity services
  • voluntary organisations
  • other internal family support services, such as children’s social care and those working with specialist needs

The sooner a family receives the right support, the sooner they are able to improve their situation and prevent the need for prolonged support.

Support starts with universal services, such as the school

The sooner a family receives the right support, the sooner they are able to improve their situation and prevent the need for prolonged support.

Support starts with universal services, such as the school, the health service and the police. Families needing additional support will receive the next level.

A 'whole family' approach ensures that children's needs and welfare are being met and maintained as well as those of the family. This is done by working with the family, local communities and others already supporting them.

  • Enabling Families, Young People or Young Parents is a short term piece of support work offered by the Early Help Service.

The aim is to empower parents and young people to understand what impacts their children's lives, what they can do to support their children and where they can go for advice and guidance.

This short survey is to find out how you felt about the support you have received from Early Help.

  • It is that time again where we like to review our service offer to your school (including staff, parents and students) this past academic year and I would be so grateful if you could please complete the following short survey. Insights from our partners are incredibly valuable for us in respect of supporting staff development as well as acknowledging and celebrating success. We will also use your feedback as part of a wider review of the Dedicated Schools Team offer across the county.

The survey will be open until 22 July 2026 but please do fill it out as soon as you are able so we can start to collate your feedback.

    Best Wishes
