Digital Volunteers

Introduction

As part of the council’s digital strategy, the Community Safety and Wellbeing team are working with Citizens Online to develop our strategic approach and response to Digital Inclusion, Access and Safety, working closely with our partners and key stakeholders across West Sussex.

As part of this work, it is important to understand more about the digital skills, confidence and knowledge of our staff in WSCC. As we try to encourage residents to engage with WSCC more online, we want to ensure that our staff and managers are digitally confident and are able to navigate around the internet safely. For those staff that directly support residents we want to ensure that they are digitally confident and can also either support residents with their digital skills or signpost them to organisations who can support them.

This short online survey aims to

  • Discover those in our workforce who may need extra help and support with digital skills.
  • Identify those residents who are struggling with digital skills.
  • Engage with staff who are supporting residents who may need help and support.

The survey will be analysed by Citizens Online and the findings summarised in a report to highlight priorities for internal learning and development.

The survey will also give us internal feedback on our residents who need support with digital skills, barriers they face and identify attitudes towards providing digital skills support across the council.

We really value your feedback, and so by taking part in this survey you can be in with a chance to win one of three £20 Love2shop vouchers. Terms and conditions apply.

If you would like to be kept in touch with information about the work, or be involved in the Digital Inclusion, Access and Safety Partnership, please leave your email address at the end of the survey or get in touch with us directly via communitysafety.wellbeing@westsussex.gov.uk
