Thank you for your continued supportin providing residential and nursing care services to the residents of West Sussex. We are writing to provide you with important updates on the Care Home Contracts and to invite you to a workshop to support future commissioning arrangements.
The Director of Adults and Health has approved a decision tocontinue contracting with existing care and nursing home providerssupporting older people and adults with lifelong disabilities. A copy of the decision is available at the following link: OKD15 (24/25)
In recognition that the contract documents were out of date, at the end of last year you will have received aletter of variation to the terms and conditions of the contracts. In addition,thespecification which forms part of the contract has now been revised making it a moreinclusive,person centred and strengths baseddocument that is applicable for all customer groups, whilst ensuringthere are no material changes to the service delivery requirements.The letter of variation from October 2023 and the new service specification are attached. Please review these documents as these will apply to pre-existing and future placements made under the Care Homes Contract 2007 (Older People) and the Care Home Services for Adults with Learning Difficulties 2009.
Please note, by continuing to provide services under your contract with West Sussex County Council from 1st of October 2024, the Council will assume that you have accepted the variations to the terms and conditions and updated service specification.
A decision to continue contracting with current providers of the Care Home Services Contract for Adults with Mental Health Needs 2015 is proceeding through the Councils’ decision-making process and providers delivering under this contract will sent a further letter once this process is completed.
Co-producing future commissioning arrangements:
The Council will now be commencing planning future commissioning arrangements for residential and nursing homes, and is inviting all residential and nursing care home providers to an onlineworkshop on either Monday 11th November or Wednesday 27th November at 11.00am -12.30pm to hear from you about what is working well, what challenges you currently face, how we can work together in the future and how we can engage customers and their families. You will only need to attend one workshop.
