What does the Council do?

    Last year, West Sussex County Council: 

    • Made 64% of services available online.
    • Supported over 12,000 adults and 844 children via social care.
    • Supported 3,270 businesses to start, revive innovate or grow.
    • We fixed 96% of highway defects on time and began £17.4m in bus improvements and invested £54m in roads.
    • Created over 5KM of new cycleways.
    • Allocated £18.5M to make our buildings more environmentally friendly. 
    • Libraries had two million visitors and were accessed 6.3 million times online.
    • Our Fire and Rescue service made over 4,000 safe and well visits to people’s homes.
    • All five of our children’s homes were rated outstanding or good by Ofsted.
    • 91% of children in West Sussex are in schools rated good or outstanding by Ofsted.
