A259 Shoreham to Brighton & Hove feedback questionnaire

We’re working to improve walking and cycling facilities and would like to understand your views on our proposals along the A259 in Shoreham, between the junction of East Street/Adur Ferry Bridge in the west and the Brighton & Hove boundary in the east.

The proposals we have developed would provide safer and more convenient journeys along the A259, making it easier to travel between Shoreham and Brighton & Hove, as well as providing a more direct route for the National Cycle Network route 2 (NCN2).

It is hoped that by improving facilities for walkers and cyclists, residents’ health, wellbeing and safety would improve, and this will provide benefits to the local economy, reducing congestion and improving air quality.

This consultation covers proposals for the potential A259 cycle route to the boundary with Brighton & Hove. Brighton & Hove City Council is considering a connection along the A259 to the wider cycle network in the city as part of its Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan, where the A259 is a priority strategic route.

We want to hear your views on our proposals for the A259 between Shoreham and the Brighton & Hove boundary. You can give feedback on this consultation by completing this questionnaire, which is split up into four different sections:

  • Section 1: About you
  • Section 2: Current travel habits
  • Section 3: Your views on our proposals
  • Section 4: Inclusivity

We will use your feedback from this questionnaire, along with other information about the proposals, to help us in deciding what amendments may be needed to the designs and the next steps for the scheme.

Before you complete this questionnaire, please read the information on the A259 Shoreham to Brighton webpage (opens in new window)

This survey will close at 11:59 p.m. on Monday 27 February 2023
